We left this morning at about 9:20 am. The time went by pretty fast. Here's the Wabash River...
Then the time went by pretty quickly but then started to slow down from there to about Effingham, Illinois. But we did get to see an awesome cross on the side of the road in Effingham.
After that the time started going a little more slow.
Then we got into St. Louis... After detour problems.
We were going down the highway and we saw that there was a detour, but our GPS wasn't recognizing it so we had to figure it out. First we took the wrong exit. Then we had to figure out how to get on the right exit which meant many more wrong turns. But we finally saw The Arch!
After we got out of the mess of the construction in St. Louis we drove some more until we got to a rest stop about 30 miles from Springfield on Rout 66.
When we finally got into Springfield we went to the worlds largest Bass Pro Shop. It's so big it has a Starbucks in it! It's all combined in 4 different buildings. We only went into some parts of it so we're going back in the morning.
From the Bass Pro Shop we dropped our stuff off at the hotel then went to Lambert's to eat, and got rolls thrown at us. =)
It was delicious!!!
After that we got lost coming back to the hotel. Once again it was because of taking the wrong exit. Then we just plain didn't know where we were.
But after we got back we went swimming/hot-tub! So it was a pretty fun day!
You haven't even been away for 24 hours yet, and you have some really beautiful pictures! I can hardly wait to see where you end up tonight! By the end of this day, you should be about halfway, right?
ReplyDeleteWere the two buildings with all the roofs part of the Pro Bass Shop? Think of me this morning when you're enjoying a Starbucks! Sounds like you might want a cold coffee today...the heat is on!
I love you!
Josh says, "LUCKY!"
ReplyDeleteYou've got some great pictures, Kiddo. I've heard about Lamberts and their, "throwed rolls". Sounds like fun!! Keep posting. I'm enjoying your trip!!
